The call to action campaign for the 2012 IFA Mass Rally is themed ‘Siyaya’. Siyaya is a Zulu phrase which means ‘we are going there…’. The IFA Mass Rally, the biggest event in the IFA calendar, is to take place on 25 February 2012 at the Ellis Park Arena in Johannesburg.
As part of its communication campaign IFA has, in line with the Siyaya theme, recorded an IFA adapted version of the Siyaya song. The song is popularly known as a chant or protest song, which was formerly used as a toyi-toyi banter but the lyrics have been adapted to drive the 2012 IFA Mass Rally message.
The aim of the song is to lift the spirits of IFAs through adding lyrics that resonate with what IFA stands for. The song is also seen as the “official anthem” of the IFA Provincial Rallies due to start on 28 January 2012. You can download the song below, in three different versions:
